    It is a small bumpy road to get to the trail head. My Subaru made it just fine, but I have seen smaller cars parking in the HWY and walking to the Crater. That works just fine although it is a bit of a walk. I have seen a school bus drive out there, so it is totally accessible. The trail head lot is wide with ample parking space. I only gave it three stars because the South Tufa parking lot just down the road is much smoother. Views are amazing and this is a great short hike
